Michael manage the side effects of chemotherapy,
thus improving his quality of life. Dr. Kaplan is
currently conducting clinical studies in three areas
(1) new chemotherapy and radiation treatments for
brain tumors (2) early detection of breast cancer in
younger women and (3) exploring a genetic connection
in detecting and treating lymphoma.
Michael Miyauchi
Memorial Fund at Lighthouse Christian Church

Many today
long for a deeper experience of the spiritual
dimension of life, for themselves or for their
children. Through vibrant worship, practical
biblical teaching, and caring relationships, we’re
growing closer to God and becoming a community in
which God’s grace and truth inform and enrich all of
our lives.
Michael's
strong faith in Jesus was planted at Faith Bible
Church, and then grown at
Lighthouse Christian Church. He felt such peaceful happiness during
the Sunday Service and fellowship, and blossomed at SYTE, Lighthouse's youth group.
Our Mission: To share God's grace
and truth so that youth come to know, love and serve
Jesus Christ.
The Core Values:
·
We want God to be seen
·
We want people to feel loved
·
We want lives to be changed into the likeness of
Jesus Christ
Michael was a founding member of
SYTE. He poured his heart into helping the team
develop a strong team to support youth in their
Christian walk. SYTE blessed Michael with a
focus on his mission to help others.
Puget Sound Blood Bank

Throughout
Michael's cancer treatment, our family and friends
continued to ask for ways to help. When Michael
needed blood transfusions and a stem-cell
transplant, a community Blood Drive was suggested.
Michael agreed, but asked that people donate blood
to help others, not just him. Three blood drives
were held in January, 2004, with 47 donors,
collecting enough blood to help over 140 people.
(One pint of blood can help three people!). The
Foundation would like to continue Michael's giving
spirit by supporting the Puget Sound Blood Bank.
