An Update on Foundation
Activities
The Michael
Miyauchi Foundation has been actively promoting and
encouraging people to help others, while offering
financial support to the Foundation’s benefactors.
Here is an update on Foundation
activities:

Hutch High
Hutch High is an exciting
half-day science symposium for high school
sophomore biology students. Hundreds of students from selected Washington State
high schools explore the world of biomedical research
at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Hutch High was funded by a grant from the
Michael Miyauchi Foundation 2010-2012.

Michael Miyauchi Memorial Fund
This foundation-supported youth fund at
Lighthouse
Christian Church recently provided
scholarships for 3 students to attend 2012 JEMS Mt. Hermon Conference,
3 students to attend 2012 JEMS Warm Beach
Conference, and is
covering registration fees of students attending Urbana 2012.

Dr. Henry Kaplan Research Fund
In 2012, the Michael Miyauchi
Foundation continued to support Dr. Henry Kaplan’s
vital cancer research and education at The Swedish Cancer
Institute in Seattle, and plans to continue
that support in 2013.

The Hutch School
Provided funding for both
Youth Theater NW Drama Workshop and Writers In
The Schools weekly workshop to this
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
funded school for children of long-term cancer
treatment patients.

Michael Miyauchi Endowed Fund
Established an endowment fund at Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Research Center that annually targets research of
leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers.

Jubilee REACH Center
In 2011, our
foundation continued financial support of this Bellevue-based
organization whose programs provide educational, emotional, and
spiritual enrichment to underserved youth by modeling Christ's love.

World Humanitarian Efforts
Provided financial assistance to
those in Japan, Haiti, China, and Myanmar affected by natural disasters, as well as through
World Vision to help alleviate world famine.
